Accomplishments
The North Paulding Theater Company has been producing high-quality theater since the school's establishment in 2007. The program offers tiered-level elective classes, including Intro to Theater, Intermediate Acting, Advanced Acting, Technical Theater, and Advanced Musical Theater. Each of the Advanced level classes produces at least one show per semester. Intro Theater and Intermediate must be taken as a prerequisite before a student can take either Musical Theater or Advanced Drama. Students can actually take both Advanced Drama and Advanced Musical Theater at the same time, based on their scheduling availability.
We also offer various extracurricular performance opportunities, including our fall One-Act Play and the Spring Musical. We also offer our chapter of the International Thespian Society, Troupe 7746, having over 70 active members, making it one of the largest merit-based after-school activities on campus!
Alumni of Troupe 7746 have gone on to study and perform at various colleges, including Long Island University, Columbus State University, University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, and many more! We also had 2 of our current members, Laila Clermont and Eli Ford, be selected out of hundreds of students to perform at the 2024 Georgia Thespian Conference at the Bill Heard Theater in Columbus, Georgia!
Students interested in joining theater should discuss adding Intro to their schedule with their counselor. If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Bishop in the theater!
